In honor of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, con vivo!…music with life will commence its 18th season of chamber music concerts with a “Beethoven Birthday Bash.” The program includes variations on "Ode to Joy" for solo organ, the Quintet for piano and winds and Septet for string and winds. con vivo! is a professional chamber music ensemble, made up of seven Madison-area musicians. Masks and vaccinations are required for all attendees.
media release: con vivo!...music with life, opens their eighteenth season of chamber music concerts with “Beethoven Birthday Bash” a celebration of the great master’s 250th birthday. As the name implies, the program will focus on the composer’s output for chamber ensembles. The concert will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 1609 University Ave. in Madison. con vivo! will be following the current Dane County and CDC recommendations for large group indoor gatherings. The large main sanctuary will be used for this concert where there is plenty of space for social distancing. Mask use and vaccination will be required for audience members. Tickets for the concert are available at the door: general admission $20 and $15 for students and seniors. The concert will include Beethoven’s Theme and Variations on “Ode to Joy” for solo organ, the Quintet for piano and winds, and the enchanting Septet for stings and winds.
Artistic Director Robert Taylor, in remarking about the concert said, “After an unprecedented year with the pandemic, we are so excited to perform again. The con vivo! members are looking forward to a wonderful evening to reconnect with our audiences. The music of Beethoven is a great way to start the fall concert season. Please join us for what will prove to be an enjoyable evening of live music.”
con vivo! is a professional chamber music ensemble comprised of Madison area musicians assembled from the ranks of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and various other performing groups familiar to Madison audiences.
