MADISON TO HOST CONCERT TO END GUN VIOLENCE
Madison artists and activists will band together, matching music with the message, on Saturday, Sept. 24, to draw attention to America’s gun violence epidemic. Five church congregations and organizations will send performers to the unique Concert to End Gun Violence at the Madison Mennonite Church, 1501 Gilbert Rd. starting at 6:30 p.m. They are just one of a series of weekend concerts, in New York and across the country, that will use music to supplement the message.
Musical performers for the Madison concert will represent Mandir of Madison, First Unitarian Society, Gurudwara Sahib Sikh Temple, Catholic Multicultural Center, and Madison Mennonite Church.
The concert will raise awareness of the urgent need for gun violence prevention and bring the community together over this shared purpose. Speakers will represent the Wisconsin An ti-Violence Effort, Moms Demand Action to Prevent Gun Violence, and others.
