press release: Edgewood College is pleased to present the 15th Annual Student Research and Creative Inquiry Symposium: Edgewood Engaged. This year’s event runs May 1 – 3, 2019. Edgewood Engaged is a college-wide celebration of student research and academic engagement. The three-day seminar includes oral presentations, poster presentations, receptions and events that celebrate the creativity and research of Edgewood College students.
Incorporating the theme Curiosity and Exploration the event highlights unique and creative presentation formats, interdisciplinary projects, and outstanding scholarship from across all five schools at both the graduate and undergraduate level: School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, the Henry Predolin School of Nursing, and the School of Integrative Studies.
This year’s keynote address, “Cruel and Unusual Care and Punishment: Healthcare, Prisons, and Abolitionist Alternatives,” is presented by Dr. Andrea Pitts, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina. The keynote address is 10:00 am – 11:15 am, Thursday, May 2, 2019, in Anderson Auditorium. The keynote address is free and open to the public.
