Dane County Lakes & Watershed Commission
City-County Building 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
As a follow-up to the October 30 Yahara Lakes Advisory Group 2 status update meeting, the Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission is hosting a presentation by Dr. Ken Potter of UW-Madison Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The presentation will be part of the Commission’s December 10 business meeting, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Room 354 City-County building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in downtown Madison.
The Commission invites the public, members of Dane County natural resources committees, commissions and councils, and YLAG2 participants to attend. Ken’s 20-minute presentation, “Land use, Climate Change, and Yahara Lakes Flooding,” will be followed by discussion about next steps to prevent increased flood risks.
YLAG2 was an advisory group that met in 2011 and 2012 to develop recommendations on how to best manage the Yahara lakes as a system. Additional background and the group’s final recommendations can be found here: https://www.countyofdane.com/lwrd/landconservation/ylag.aspx
