David Payne & the Way It Is

press release: Charlie Brooks was one of Madison's most beloved Band Leaders.  As a young man he shared the stage with many of the luminaries from the golden age of Motown and soul.  Often found on Funky Mondays out in front of the Clyde Stubblefield Band, and at the Knuckle Down with his own 'Charlie Brooks and The Way It Is' he brought our city some of the great limelight from a golden age of music.  His main protege, David Payne, will be bringing Charlie's band back to the KDS for a very special night of Charlie's favorite music.  $8.
