Delavan Walldogs

Huge advertisements on the sides of buildings are usually the disposable kind:  vinyl sheets with computer-printed graphics.  But once in a while you’ll see a throwback to Mad Men-style hand-painted murals promoting a brand, movie or TV Show.  The muralists working this trade are dubbed “walldogs.” 

Delavan was chosen to be the host of the 2015 Walldog event composed of an international group of sign painters, graphic artists and other talented individuals that reunite annually to entertain and transform a community with their special brand of artistic interpretation, entertainment and friendship.

The City of Delavan is excited to host the Walldogs, June 24-28 for a four-day mural painting marathon, in which the storied city with a rich history will see it unfold visually on the sides of the community’s buildings.  Visitors will be entertained by a packed schedule of family-friendly events, nods to the city’s history, musical and art heritage. 

Opportunities to witness the Walldogs in action will be highlighted throughout the event with bike tours, movies in the park, auctions and several outdoor celebrations.
