press release: Desmond Jones will be hitting the road in February in support of their self-titled debut studio album, stopping in Madison at The Wisco on February 7, 2019.
Their debut album, self-titled Desmond Jones, features eight original songs, a wide variety of instrumentation, and unique musical compositions. NPR calls it a showcase of “eclectic musical diversity”. The album spotlights four different songwriters from within the band resulting in a wide array of musical styles and influences.
With original music written to complement the group's sound as a whole, the music is centered around melodic guitar riffs, funky bass lines, groovy drum beats, and smooth saxophone. The group takes influence from Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Phish, Charles Mingus, The Band, and The Grateful Dead to name a few. Desmond Jones has recently shared the stage with bands like Papadosio, Dopapod, The Werks, EOTO, Here Come the Mummies, Tauk, Mungion, Marco Benevento, Aqueous, and Badfish- Sublime Tribute.
The band prides itself on high-energy performances that present the audience with a positive and fun experience. Every set and song is unique and comes from a catalog of over 55 original tunes.
