Building the LGBT & Allied Business Community – Why It Matters and What’s Next
In 2014, the buying power of the LGBT community was estimated at nearly $884 million dollars. In addition, study after study shows that consumers – both LGBT and allies – are seeking to support businesses that share a common value set and will go out of their way to search for those businesses and organizations. Learn about the working being done in Wisconsin to build a pro-fairness business community from Jason Rae, the executive director of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
Jason Rae founded the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce in September 2012 and has served as its executive director since then. He comes from a background of political advocacy and organizing. Jason currently serves as Chair of Fair Wisconsin and the Milwaukee County Human Rights Commission and is a member of Marquette University’sPresidential Task Force on Equity and Inclusion. Originally from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Jason currently lives in Milwaukee with his husband.
