Dog Fest

Angell Park, Sun Prairie 315 Park St., Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590
press release: Each year Mounds invites hundreds of rescue groups and shelters to Mounds’ Dog Fest. This festive event brings 5,000-8,000 people together from humane societies, rescue groups, pet food vendors and local pet-friendly businesses. Bringing all of these groups in one place helps instigate partnerships, friendships and cooperative efforts throughout the community for the betterment of animals in need. Now in its 22nd year, Dog Fest has been a perennial favorite among the people of Madison and surrounding communities. Dog Fest is Mounds’ gift to the community: Each rescue group, shelter, and other non-profit group is provided with a free booth and space to showcase adoptable dogs, fundraise, and educate the community about their efforts to promote animal welfare.
***No Puppies under 6 Months, No retractable leashes***
In addition to visiting these booths, Dog Fest-goers are treated to a fair-like atmosphere with “Paws on Activities” that people can participate in with their dogs, as well as demonstrations and contests designed to provide entertainment as well as inform. Dog fest is free to the public and open to visitors who are encouraged to bring their dogs along. The highlight of Dog Fest for many shelters and rescue groups is being visited at their booths by dogs they helped find forever homes. Mounds coordinates Dog Fest each year, not to benefit our bottom line, but to spread awareness about all the great organizations working in our community, and bring new information to the public with educational demonstrations throughout the event. The nonprofit organizations involved look forward to this event as a chance to network, spread awareness, collaborate, and have a little fun celebrating their own efforts!
