press release: On Friday, September 9 @ 8:00 P.M - FAIR TRADE COFFEE HOUSE, 418 State St., will feature singer/songwriter Dorothy Scott. After her premiere on WPT on the 30 min music hour she received hundreds of emails with new and old fans wondering when she was going to hit the Madison area. Well here she is! Dividing time between NYC and Door County, Dorothy takes a magical stance and melds the music and lyrics into a seamless, living breathing whole. She has flowed effortlessly between genres achieving popularity in pop, folk, blues and alternative. The common bridge is an exquisite vocal style, amazing guitar playing and a gift for discovering the heart of a song. Her live performance is passionate and real, fierce and funny, outspoken and vulnerable. Her subsequent tours of the U.S, Ireland, Sweden and Canada left a loyal and growing following in their wake. Along her travels, Dorothy has shared the stage with Carole King, Jackson Browne, Jeff Buckley, Janis Ian, Joan Armatrading, Joan Osborne, the Siegel Schwall Band and the Frames. Dorothy’s album Restless Machinery was voted #1 in the local chart section in Rolling Stone in 2002.
