Get ready for a January art explosion as all three Overture Galleries host a combined reception. The Bone Folders Guild (artists who make books) hosts a 15th anniversary exhibit in Gallery I. Carol Chase Bjerke and Sarah O’Farrell’s “Whereupon Memory” (photographs and screen prints) occupies Gallery II. And Erik Baillies and Anders Zanichowsky’s innovative prints for “Alternative Photographies” are in Gallery III.

Opening Reception (for all Overture Galleries): Friday, Jan. 13th, 6-8pm
This exhibition reveals hidden realities through alternative methods that span the history of photography. Baillies uses the tintype and salt print to re-contextualize portraits of people, cities and nature. Zanichkowsky presents rare sights from the high Arctic with cyanotypes printed in the archipelago of Svalbard.

Eric Baillies 4PM: History and making of tintypes, collodion wet plate and dry plate negatives, and salt and albumen prints, with a hands on look at the artist's custom cameras and cases.
Anders Zanichkowsky 5PM: Artist talk on printing cyanotypes and making work in the Arctic wilderness, with photos and videos from the expedition in Svalbard.
