Ex Libris: Beer for Brunch
press release: Join Madison Public Library Foundation in celebrating fall with Wisconsin’s best craft breweries and the region’s finest culinary artisans at its annual fundraiser, Ex Libris Volume VI: Beer for Brunch, from 7–10 p.m. Friday, November 4, at Central Library.
The lineup of 34 local culinary artists and brewers and will again serve brunch-themed creations alongside stouts, Belgians, pale ales, ciders and more. Serving for the first time at Ex Libris are the Avenue Club and the Bubble Up Bar, Ladonia Café, 3rd Sign Brewery, Bassett Street Brunch Club, The Old Fashioned and Hop Haus Brewing Co.
The Whiskey Farm and DJ Rob Dz will provide live music while guests try their luck on a Gail Ambrosius chocolate bar golden ticket raffle, with grand prize jewelry from Studio Jewelers and Beer for a Year from the Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. Silent auction items include an Underground Food Collective food cart party, lunch with former Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan, handcrafted beer steins created by local artists and other valuable items.
New this year is Prologue, a VIP event that will precede Ex Libris from 6–7 p.m. Prologue guests will enjoy light appetizers, a special release cask from Wisconsin Brewing Company brewmaster Kirby Nelson, a complimentary copy of “Wisconsin’s Best Beer Guide: A Travel Companion” by Kevin Revolinski, and a meet-and-greet with Nelson and Revolinski.
“There’s been such a great demand for Ex Libris tickets each year that we decided to add the Prologue event for our most loyal library fans and the beer aficionados,” said foundation Executive Director Jenni Collins. “Proceeds from these two fundraisers will support library programs, new facilities, new additions to the collection and more."
Ex Libris tickets are $75 each, $420 for a six-pack or $800 for a 12-pack. Prologue tickets are $125 each, and include access to both Prologue and Ex Libris. All tickets are available exclusively on our Ex Libris event page or by calling 608.266.6318. Space is limited, so the foundation encourages library supporters to buy tickets now. The event typically sells out quickly.
