press release: Rotary Botanical Gardens will proceed with the annual, open-to-the-public, Fall Plant Sale fundraiser on Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th, 2016, with a Friends-Members-Only Preview Sale day on Friday, September 9th, 2016.
On Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., the public is welcome to visit Rotary Botanical Gardens’ Horticulture Center, located east of the Gardens on Sharon Road, to purchase fall plantings. The 2016 sale will offer a great variety, including: native perennials, ornamental grasses, spring blooming bulbs, giant garden mums, flowering kale, shrubs, and mushroom compost, as well as sun and shade perennials. Any day during this sale, Rotary Botanical Gardens Friends members may make purchases and receive a 10% membership discount.
This sale benefits Rotary Botanical Gardens as the proceeds will go toward general operating expenses for the Gardens. On Friday, September 9th, Rotary Botanical Gardens’ Friends Members are invited to enjoy two of their membership perks: the Plant Sale Preview Day and a 10% off discount. Visitors who are not currently Rotary Botanical Gardens’ Friends Members may purchase a membership on this day and apply their discount to their purchase during the Friends Members Only Preview Sale.
During the Plant Sale, attendees will be able to purchase food and beverages, including Apple Cider Donuts from Skelly’s Farm Market. Those who make a
purchase at the Plant Sale are invited to use their receipt to receive one complimentary admission to the Gardens, good for use on the same day. Simply show your receipt at the admission window and receive one free admission wristband which can be used toward an adult, senior, youth, or military rate; one admission per receipt.
Located in Janesville, Wisconsin, Rotary Botanical Gardens is an award winning 20-acre, non-profit botanic showcase with over 24 different garden styles and 4,000 varieties of plants. Visitors to the Gardens may enjoy taking a prescheduled garden tour, shopping local artisans’ works in the Cottage Garden Gallery, and participating in a variety of educational classes and programs. Rotary Botanical Gardens does not receive city, county, state, or federal funding.
