Ferguson Solidarity Vigil, James Reeb Unitarian Universalist, Sunday, August 9 at 7:30 pm
The extrajudicial killing of Michael Brown on August 9, 2014, sparked a cry from Ferguson, Missouri, that has not relented. Protests have continued daily across the greater St. Louis metro region ever since August 10. And here in Madison, protests have been organized to show solidarity with the Ferguson protests – and have continued in response to Tony Robinson’s murder and the decision not to indict the police officer who shot him. The James Reeb Unitarian Universalist Congregation supports the Black Lives Matter Movement. In recognition of this weekend’s gatherings in Ferguson to mark the anniversary of Michael’s murder, we will host a solidarity event. Please join us in a sharing circle in our sanctuary at 7:30 pm, followed by an outdoor vigil. We are located at 2146 East Johnson St. Contact Rev. Karen Quinlan revkaren@jruuc.org
