Finding an Agent
Central Library 201 W. Mifflin St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: First Floor Conference Room
During the publication process, literary agents act as middlemen, matching manuscripts with publishing houses—but how does an author find an agent? In this seminar, we’ll explore each step of the process, from effectively targeting agents to writing query letters to crafting synopses and writing samples. This two-hour course is suitable for writers who would like to learn more about the agenting process, but it is ideal for those with book projects, as there will be opportunities to develop query materials based on a specific project.
