oress release: The Friends of Glacial Heritage Area has organized another work day at CamRock shelter 2 on Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to Noon. All are welcome to help beautify and cultivate native habitat at CamRock County Park! Students from UW-Whitewater will also be on hand to assist in this community service project.
Volunteers will remove invasive plants such as buckthorn and honeysuckle as well as appropriate box elder trees to develop an arboretum-style restoration area. Weather permitting, project leaders may decide to burn brush material. Treats provided!
Please meet at the shelter 2 parking lot off County Highway B near Rockdale at 9 a.m. with appropriate shoes and clothing that cover arms and legs. Bring work gloves, water and any tools you’d like to use personally. Shared tools will be available as well. Please contact Clare at friendsofgha@gmail.com with questions.
