Event Description:

24th Annual Zona Gale Celebration Friendship Village

A commemoration of Pulitzer Prize winning dramatist & social activist Zona Gale. Poetry & play reading, cemetery tour, music, tours of Gale's two homes in Portage, ice cream social and more.

10:30AM - At the REMEMBRANCE SITE, Silver Lake Cemetery, Cemetery Road off West Wisconsin Street (Hwy. 16)  Bring your own seating and bug spray.  

2pm-4pm at the Women’s Civic League Clubhouse, 506 West Edgewater

Zona Gale home (1906-1928) listed on National Register of Historic Places.  Free guided tours. Pie and ice cream social on shaded lawn along Wisconsin River.  Donations accepted
