Gel Set is the Los Angeles-based minimalist synth project of Laura Callier. The otherworldly, lo-fi pop songs use driving, bass-heavy rhythms, bright keyboards and industrial noises to create expansive landscapes under Callier’s dark, alluring vocal performance. Her latest album, Body Copy, is a surreal journey through ambient sound designs and weird sampling, with songs about past romances and psychedelic, emotional explorations. With Twins, DJs Evan Woodward, Ian Adcock.

press release: Atlanta-based producer, synth wunderkind and CGI Records and DKA label head TWINS (AKA Matt Weiner) shared the video for the second single from his recently announced debut record, That Which Is Not Said, out May 4 via 2MR. The ominous, 80s-tinged and synth-drenched "Stuck" follows on the heels of the previously released "Glass Breaks Glass". The clip was premiered via XLR8R, who call the LP "...a raw and unadulterated look into Weiner's psyche and artistic temperament, one that touches on the nature of desire, loss, and intimacy." TWINS will be taking these new songs on the road across the U.S. on a tour with labelmate Gel Set.
"Stuck" by Twins
Speaking on the track, Weiner says "'Stuck' was written shortly after a series of let downs led me to feeling disillusioned and lost, unable to see past where I was at...stuck. Admittedly a bit indulgent, the song is pure emotional catharsis with melancholic sustained tones and a strained vocal howl that requires me to put my whole core being into the part. I found it is the best way to transform a dark and heavy feeling into a moment of pure release. It's still one of my favorite songs to perform live."
