press release:
Due to ongoing concerns over the coronavirus, VACT has decided to cancel performances of its spring youth productions: Pajama Party, Suessical Kids, and GTK Footloose (April 2-4), and Chicago HSE (April 16-18). With school district restrictions making the Verona Area High School Performing Arts Center (VAHS PAC) inaccessible until April 6, there is no option for the April 2-4 productions. VACT has also decided that out of concern for continuing large group rehearsals, for the safety of our cast and staff, we will also cancel performances of Chicago HSE, regardless of whether the VAHS PAC reopens after April 6.
We want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our four casts, staff, volunteers, and families. We know that this decision will cause a great deal of disappointment, and please know that we share in your sadness, but VACT feels strongly that this is the right decision. We will continue to explore options for allowing our amazing casts a way to show all, or a portion, of the great work that had been done on these productions thus far, but with so many questions still unanswered we do not have any details at this time. Cast members will receive emails through our regular channels if any further decisions are made.
ABOUT YOUR TICKETS
VACT wants to do everything it can to answer questions about tickets that were purchased for these canceled performances. We are amending our ticket return policy for these four productions and will allow patrons to choose how they would like VACT to handle their purchased tickets for these shows.
Many of the costs incurred by VACT to produce these shows up until this point cannot be recouped. If you would like, all of your ticket purchase, or a portion of your ticket purchase, can be turned into a tax-deductible donation to VACT. Your donation helps support our mission and cover costs we cannot recoup, such as credit card fees, ticketing fees, costumes, props, licensing, scholarships, etc.
Tickets holders have three options for purchased tickets:
Donate your tickets to VACT and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value.
Request an account credit for a future VACT performance through our next season, either for the total ticket value or for a portion of the ticket value.
Request a refund for the total ticket value or for a portion of the ticket value.
For help with your tickets, please respond to the appropriate email listed below by April 5, 2020, including the name on your order, and your order number, if you have it. If we do not hear from you by April 5, 2020, we will assume you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to VACT for your ticket.
PLEASE EMAIL US AT:
donate@vact.org if you would like to donate your full ticket amount to VACT.
credit@vact.org if you would like a credit toward a future VACT production for all or a portion of your ticket. Please indicate what amount you would like credited to your account.
refund@vact.org if you would like a refund for all or a portion of your purchase. Please indicate what amount you would like refunded.
Please understand that it will take time for VACT to process these requests, as we have over 700 orders to process, so please be patient after submitting your request. You will receive an email confirmation by May 5, 2020.
If you have any questions, please email refundquestions@vact.org and we will respond as quickly as possible. We expect a larger-than-normal volume of questions and will respond to messages in the order received.
Sincerely,
The VACT Board of Directors
