media release: Americana jamband Gin Mill Hollow from Madison returns to the Bur Oak on Friday, March 22, for a headlining performance as part of their ten-year anniversary celebration. The band technically won't reach the milestone until late June, but they've made it clear they intend to celebrate a decade of music at every show they play in 2024. Rounding out the bill is Lost Orange Cat from Milwaukee, a self-described Rock'n'Roll band disguised as a bluegrass band.
Along with the celebration of ten years of original Americana and roots music, Gin Mill Hollow will also surpass the 600-show milestone in 2024. No strangers to long hauls on the road, the band was regularly playing 60-80 shows per year for the last five years. The Bur Oak show in March will be show number 589, with the forecasted 600th show to take place sometime this summer.
Speaking of summer plans, Gin Mill Hollow announced at a recent show at the Up North Bar their intentions to return to the Vines to host two micro-festivals. Expecting to have a formal announcement in the coming weeks; the word from stage was one event each on the Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox respectively, bringing along some great regional talent to the Sauk Prairie area. This will mark their fifth summer of hosting summer music events at the vineyard and performance venue.
