Every summer and early fall, the gardens at Olbrich receive a nighttime makeover with this fanciful show of light-based art that changes every year, including some interactive installations. Timed entry begins at 8 p.m. in August, at 7:30 p.m. in September, and 6:30 p.m. in October, with tickets sold in advance only at olbrichgleam.org. Performances by Cycropia Aerial Dance will also be featured on Sept. 26-27. Pro tip: most people like the earliest entrance times, so choosing later times can result in easier viewing at the start.

media release: Olbrich Botanical Gardens invites you to escape day-to-day life and enter a third space, a place for creative interaction and dynamic play. Light installation artists from far and wide transform the Gardens into an illuminated adventure. Expect appearances from “wild animals," create a time-lapse self-portrait, relive childhood memories like getting lost in the corn, and wander through a kaleidoscope of light. Come bask in the glow and enjoy the Gardens in a whole new light.

Thursday, Sept. 26 & Friday, Sept. 27, 7:30 – 11 p.m.: Enjoy an elevated GLEAM experience! Join us for a special evening with extended hours and witness the amazing Cycropia Aerial Dance group perform aerial and ground routines in mesmerizing, illuminated LED costumes.
