RSVP for Glowsticks and Gershwin
Opera fans in southern Wisconsin probably have an instant association when hearing the word glowsticks: a memory of Madison Opera’s annual free Opera in the Park concert, which features audience interaction using the colorful accessory. It’s appropriate in this case as Glowsticks and Gershwin is raising funds to put on this year’s concert. Music is provided by Anthony and Leslie Cao with guest soprano Sachie Ueshima, and the evening also includes picnic-inspired food by Casetta Kitchen, beverages, a silent auction, and more. Reservations required by May 7 at madisonopera.org.
media release: Please put May 16 on your calendar and save the date to join us at the Margaret C. Winston Madison Opera Center for Glowsticks and Gershwin, a fundraiser for Opera in the Park 2024.
There is nothing quite like the joy of live music and the sight of the Opera in the Park audience lighting up the summer night sky with glowsticks. This summer's concert will be held on July 20 in beautiful Garner Park.
To put on this extraordinary concert requires many people and production elements, and we rely on our generous supporters to keep the concert free for everyone to attend.
Start the evening with a specialty cocktail by Maduro, plus wine, beer, and some delectable non-alcoholic options. Mingle with friends and savor picnic-inspired fare from the chefs at Casetta Kitchen.
Enjoy music performed by Anthony and Leslie Cao, plus a guest appearance by soprano Sachie Ueshima.
Check out the goodies at the silent auction, grab a cork from the wine pull, practice your glowstick conducting skills, and have a wonderful time!
Tickets are $150 per person and on sale on now. Ticket sales close on May 7.
