Goin' Pokin' in the Token

Token Creek in the shadow of Dane County Airport is, literally, a flyover stream. But never mind the occasional roar of a jet engine; this is an otherwise secluded place. This round-trip paddle will take you down Token Creek to the edge of Cherokee Marsh and back.

Bring your own boat (kayak or canoe), paddle, life jacket, water and other paddling accouterments. A snack will be provided. This is a "round trip" paddle; therefore, there is no shuttling of cars. Token Creek is a gentle, clear stream appropriate for beginning paddlers. But there are a few obstacles requiring some navigating ability.

Post-paddle option: a cool brew at nearby Karben 4 Brewery.
