Great Taste Eve Block Party

press release: Celebrate the Great Taste of the Midwest Eve on the 500 Block of E. Wilson St. this Friday, August 12. The Essen Haus, Come Back In and Up North are joining forces to throw one GIANT Great Taste Eve Block Party complete with craft beer from three Midwestern breweries (Revolution Brewing, One Barrel Brewing & Hinterland Brewing), live music and giveaways. The festivities begin at 5pm.

Revolution Brewing is breaking away from the Windy City for the evening to throw an Oktoberfest Release Party at the Essen Haus. They are taking over the outside deck & patio from 5pm-8pm with five featured brews. Revolution's Fist City Chicago Pale Ale and Oktoberfest German-style Märzen are returning for another year. Keller Pils and Keller Oktoberfest, two of Revolutions rarer recipes, are also making the journey to the Haus, along with their Very Mad Cow Barrel-aged Milk Stout. Fill up one of Revolution's one-liter glass steins for a discount deal (while supplies last) and get ready to polka. The David Austin Band will perform out on the patio during this bodacious beer event.

Madison's own One Barrel Brewing will be next door at the Come Back In. They are also stopping by from 5pm-8pm with four fabulous beers to try. Commuter Kölsch, Willie Wee Heavy and their limited release "Don't Touch My Chandelier" Pilsner with orange and coriander will all be tapped for the occasion. One Barrel is also bringing their super exclusive #500 Belgian Quadruple with pint glasses to keep (while supplies last). The Dead Sea Squirrels are joining in on the fun with free live music from 5pm-8pm.

The Up North will close out the night with Hinterland Brewing at 8pm. This Green Bay brewery is bringing seven spectacular brews to the block party. Hinterland's Weizen Bier, Berliner Weisse, Cherry Wheat, Evergreen Session IPA, Packerland Pilsner, Oktoberfest and Saison will be ready to fill those pint glasses until bartime... or until it's gone. Chow down on a free brat from Jenifer Street Market with every purchase (while supplies last) and enjoy the musical stylings of Paulie Matushek from 8pm-11pm. Never a cover.
