Heather Dale Band
press release: Canadian recording artist & touring musician Heather Dale writes songs for imaginative people of all ages who aren’t afraid to be different. Known for her interpretations of ancient legends, she cheerfully disregards the limits for both folk singer-songwriters and Celtic balladeers, and fuses the folk tradition with blues and jazz influences. Her original music “is powerful stuff… with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources” (Vancouver Sun), and is reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan.
As a modern woman with Celtic roots, Heather is perhaps best known for her Youtube hit “Mordred’s Lullaby” (12.7 million views as of 2016) and has released 17 recordings. The Heather Dale Band has been touring extensively around North America and Europe since 2004, with 100+ shows per year from 2004 to 2014. Born and raised in Toronto, Heather worked as an environmental educator before turning her steps toward a career in music. Choosing to retain control over her career, she founded her independent record label Amphis Music in 1998 and continues to manage it full-time with her business partner Ben Deschamps.
In 2016, Heather released her first original musical theatre production (Queens of Avalon), which was the result of a highly successful crowdfunding campaign. Visit QueensOfAvalon.com for details.
