Hello Death (Milwaukee) - Their deliberate execution of strong writing, challenging harmonies and folk instrumentation make for a symphonic quality voiced with a minimalist approach.
Their full-length self-titled debut album was recorded at April Base Studios in March of 2012. It was engineered by Jaime Hansen, produced by Daniel Spack and Nathaniel Heuer, Mastered by Jeff Lipton and released on June 14th, 2013.
Oedipus Tex (Madison) - Both El Valiente and Oedipus Tex evoke a certain type of desert loneliness with shimmering finger-picked guitar lines and tragic melodies that swell and recede, a sound equally fitting for a cowboy at a campfire and an indie rocker at a dive bar. While a number of forces have conspired to create this sound, it has much to do with Caldera’s upbringing in Texas.
In The Rushes is the latest project from Connie Ward, Madison-based bassist, guitarist, singer and songwriter, formerly of Buildings on Buildings, Thieves on Holiday and Bugatti Type 35. With In The Rushes, Ward strikes out on her own with hushed, stripped-down, haunting and honest songs of love, death and confusion.
