Hip-Hop Architecture: Exploring the Intersection of Music & Architecture
Thursday, Nov. 17, Monona Terrace (Lecture Hall), 7 pm
The link between architecture and hip-hop isn’t obvious, but once you see the connection, it can’t be broken. In this Wright Design Series lecture, architect and Madison College professor Michael Ford will discuss how the oppressive architecture and environment of the New York City projects led its residents to revolt against monotony to build the creative outlet of hip-hop culture. He’ll also discuss how hip-hop can fuel an increase in the number of architects of color. Free but registration required: mononaterrace.com/event-group/wright-design-series.
Tickets are available subject to venue capacity and are issued on a first come first serve basis. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the event starting at 6:30pm.
