media release: We will celebrate the official launch of the season with Holiday Glow on Monroe starting with First Friday on Monroe Street and continuing all day Saturday. There will be special offers and activities up and down the street Friday evening and on Saturday. 

Santa will arrive at Monroe Commons (in the 1800 block by Trader Joe’s) at 4:00 on Friday afternoon. He will then visit with children - and the young at heart - in the 1700-1900 blocks of Monroe Street. 

The Madison Savoyards will sing songs of the season from 4:00-6:00, starting at Monroe Commons with Santa.

On Saturday will feature carolers from Capital City Theatre from noon to 2:00 in the 1700-1900 blocks.

Monroe Street Holiday Rewards December 5-21

Visit five or more participating Monroe Street shops, restaurants or service businesses from December 5 to 21, and you could win an amazing $500 Monroe Street experience.

Just pick up a card at the Monroe Street Library, 1705 Monroe Street, Orange Tree Imports, 1721 Monroe Street, or Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, 2531 Monroe Street.  Starting Friday, December 5 you can stop in any of the participating businesses to get your card stamped. (No purchase necessary.) 

Return the card by Sunday, December 21 to be entered in a prize drawing for  the Monroe Street Shopping and Dining Spree!
