press release: The Stoughton Opera House is proud to host the Spring 2019 series of Music Appreciation, organized by John Beutel and sponsored by the Stoughton Area Senior Center and The Bryant Foundation. John Beutel has organized and curated the Music Appreciation series for the last 17 years at both the Stoughton Area Senior Center and at the Stoughton Opera House. The series has introduced talented artists from all over the world as well as provided a showcase of many local and regional artists ranging from students to teachers to professionals.
Music Appreciation programs take place at the Stoughton Opera House on the following Monday afternoons at 3pm. All sessions are free and open to the public with donations graciously accepted at the door.
May 6 - Hyewon Ryou, piano
Korean born Hyewon Ryou began playing piano at age 8 and by age 13 was accepted to the Yewon Art School in Seoul. She soon made her debut with the Romanian National Symphony Orchestra at the Little Angels Art Center. Since then, Ms. Ryou has performed as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician all over the world. Ms. Ryou is currently working on her Doctoral Degree at the Peabody Institute of Music (part of Johns Hopkins University). Peabody is one of the preeminent conservatories of music in the US. Her program will include music by Haydn, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt.
