Described as "luminaries," "world-class," and "adventurous," the flute-piano duo of Dr. Iva Ugrcic (fl) and Dr. Satoko Hayami (pf) have presented uniquely diverse and virtuosic programs through dynamic performances and storytelling since 2017.
Named BRAVA Magazine’s "Women to Watch 2022" and the “Musician of the Year 2018” by the Well-Tempered Ear, Dr. Iva Ugrčić is one of the most exciting and adventurous flutists in the international pantheon. Described as “a natural star on her instrument,” Dr. Ugrčić has been featured as a solo artist as well as a chamber and orchestral musician, performing around the world. In 2018, Dr. Ugrcic founded LunART, Inc., a nonprofit organization with the mission of celebrating and promoting women’s creativity in the arts.
An award-winning pianist, Dr. Satoko Hayami performs and teaches solo, duo, and chamber music worldwide. Satoko co-founded Sound Out Loud Ensemble, a contemporary chamber ensemble, which received national acclaim in 2018, winning first prize in Chamber Music Performance of The American Prize. Besides continually performing in numerous recitals, Satoko's most recent positions included a lecturer in collaborative piano at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a piano instructor at Beloit College.
