press release: Pete Seeger was a legendary song-writer, folk singer, and social activist. Composer/guitarist Jim Scott knew Pete Seeger well and collaborated with the folk legend on many projects.
Scott will share his memories of Pete, play some of Seeger's songs, and perform some original songs of his own. The audience will sing along with many of his well-loved songs such as "If I Had a Hammer," "Turn! Turn! Turn!," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," and many others.
Jim Scott brings a warmth and authenticity that turns any size audience into an intimate gathering. Known to many as guitarist with the Paul Winter Consort and co-composer of their celebrated "Missa Gaia/Earth Mass," his lyrical melodies, well-crafted words, guitar mastery, and humor moved Pete Seeger to call him “Some kind of a magician.”
Join Jim Scott and raise your voice for the causes Pete championed and remember his contributions to our American heritage.
Admission is $20 at the door (or pay what you can).
