THE JOHN KADLECIK BAND (Furthur, Phil & Friends, Golden Gate Wingmen, & Dark Star Orchestra)
& MR. BLOTTO (Chicago’s preeminent Jam Band)
Tickets: $20.00 Advance/$25.00 Day Of Show
press release: National touring artist John Kadlecik will perform with his band at the Barrymore Theatre on Thursday, November 10. The John Kadlecik Band launched a perpetual U.S. tour last year, and will be performing on a double bill with old pals Mr. Blotto from Chicago. The show begins at 7:30 and tickets are $20, available at the Barrymore box office or on line at Barrymorelive.com.
John Kadlecik has established himself as one of the country's premier improvisational singer/guitarists, touring nationally for the last 25 years with Hairball Willie, Dark Star Orchestra, and The Mix with Melvin Seals before landing a five year run with Bob Weir and Phil Lesh in the critically acclaimed post-Grateful Dead project, Furthur. And while John used to make bi-annual appearances in Madison with DSO, it has now been almost five years since Furthur performed at the Alliant Energy Center and he is "chomping at the bit" to bring his rare jam magic back to Madison!
The current touring band is a quartet, featuring Nathan Graham (Basshound) on drums, Klyph Black (Zen Tricksters) on bass guitar, and special guest Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh & Friends) on keyboards, and is a band that seeks the unique alchemy that comes from a musical group collectively taking chances on stage. John Kadlecik is also a songwriter, and will incorporate his own material as well as beloved Grateful Dead, Americana, and jam-band favorites into a performance that seeks to make people feel like they experienced a cross between an epic sci-fi/fantasy movie and a high energy yoga session.
Also co-billed on the show is Mr. Blotto, Chicago's premier jam band. John's history with Mr. Blotto goes all the way back to the early 1990s when one of his early bands, Hairball Willie, would occasionally open for them, and the synergy of the two bands for the show is expected to be both remarkable and fun!
