press release: Want to learn to Fly Fish? Or maybe you’re already an expert and are interested in tuning up your skills. Join Madison Parks and ORVIS in this free workshop on the ins and outs of fly fishing. ORVIS instructors will lead this introductory workshop on fishing techniques, maintenance, the rules of water, and safety through demos and practice sessions. Learn how to take advantage of Madison’s outstanding fishing locations. Most equipment will be supplied by ORVIS. If you have your own equipment, please bring it with you. All ages and experience levels welcome.
The workshop will be held at Vilas Park lake shore. Meet at Vilas Park Shelter, 1602 Vilas Park Drive, on Thursday, August 13 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Staff members of ORVIS will lead this workshop for beginners and provide some basic information about choosing equipment and proper techniques. There will also be demonstrations and time to practice your new skills.
All ages and experience levels are welcome to participate. This event is free to attend; however, due to the popularity of the program we are asking those interested in attending to register by calling our Madison Parks Office at (608) 266-4711.
