media release: Platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist, and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling has announced her dazzling holiday live-streaming special “Lindsey Stirling: Home for the Holidays,” which originally debuted this past weekend, will re-air this Saturday, December 19th at 12pm PT/3pm ET followed by a live Q&A event. Stirling independently created, produced, and financed the all-new hour-long TV special, which has already drawn over 50,000 views from tens of thousands of fans and families around the world. “Lindsey Stirling: Home for the Holidays” features exclusive performances of seasonal favorites off her chart-topping holiday album Warmer In The Winter, such as “Angels We Have Heard On High,” “All I Want For Christmas,” “Let It Snow,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and “Carol of the Bells,” brought to life by talented dancers, glittering costumes, a live band, and stylized sets in a high-production quality recorded show that blurs the lines between concert and Christmas special. The one-of-a-kind experience also features Stirling’s beautifully breathtaking performance of her hit “Crystalize,” where she hangs by her hair for a captivating Cirque du Soleil-inspired aerial display, and pop-up performances outside the homes of surprised fans along with heartfelt stories, singing and laughs. Created specially for at-home viewing, “Lindsey Stirling: Home for the Holidays” offers a spectacle greater than any standard venue could provide.

“I had several goals with making a Christmas special,” Stirling recently explained to Forbes.com. “One was that I knew this Christmas was gonna be really hard for a lot of people and I wanted to have some way to cheer up my fans, my little corner of the internet….I [also] needed something to pour my heart into. It’s really hard as an artist when you feel you have nothing to create.” She added, “There is nothing like a live performance, that feeling you get, the energy. You cannot capture that on film no matter what you do. So, I didn’t try to do a live show. I decided I would really lean into the medium I had, which is film. And I had the ability to curate it so that you’re making it this experience that is seen through something that is this big screen. That creates a very different type of energy…I got to go back into all these old ideas that were shut down on previous tours. All kinds of things that aren’t possible in the live show we did [for this]. And it makes so that this is something you could never see unless you were viewing it in this way. It makes it really special, it’s different than just a live show. And I think people are going to be quite shocked at some of the things we do. I did something I’ve never done before in the show, and again, this is something that I don’t think I could ever do on the tour. I spent two and a half months learning the art of hair hanging, which is where you actually learn how to braid your hair in a certain way so that you hang from it like an aerial artist. But instead of harnesses and straps, you’re hanging by your hair…I wanted to make this something unlike anything they’ve ever seen before. No one in the world has ever done that, played a violin and hung by their hair.”
“Lindsey Stirling: Home for the Holidays” has already been hailed “a burst of warmth in a cold season and at an incredibly bittersweet time” by Popdust and a “masterpiece” and “fantastical experience” by mxdwn. The latter adding, “this stream was very different from most virtual concert experiences. It was vulnerable, it was personal, and it felt like a movie created specifically for fans to enjoy. Whether viewers celebrate Christmas or not, there was something for everyone to enjoy with this display of compassion and kindness that was brought to the screen. Lindsey Stirling brought a kind and energizing performance to her fans and gave them hope. Hope goes a long way these days, and it was clear the fans’ spirits were lifted.”
Stirling released her first-ever holiday album Warmer In The Winter in 2017 via Lindseystomp/Concord Records, marking the #1 new Christmas album of the year. Due to high demand from fans, a Deluxe Edition was issued in 2018, also topping the holiday charts. Warmer In The Winter, which has been streamed over 150 million times, features classic and original songs along with special guests Becky G, Sabrina Carpenter, Trombone Shorty and Alex Gaskarth (from All Time Low). The album’s version of “Carol of the Bells,” the first instrumental song to reach Top 5 on Hot AC Radio last year, is currently one of the most played holiday songs at radio across the country. Additionally, Stirling recently teamed up with country superstar Darius Rucker for a special performance of the classic Christmas carol “What Child Is This,” which the two performed on “CMA Country Christmas” and released as a digital-only single.
Lindsey Stirling is known all over the world for her unique, futuristic violin-driven electronic music. Since the release of her 2012 self-titled debut, the Arizona-raised, Los Angeles-based artist has racked up tens of millions of followers worldwide and more than 3 billion total views on YouTube. Stirling’s sophomore album Shatter Me was certified Gold by the RIAA, after debuting at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and holding the #1 spot on the Classical Albums Chart for 21 consecutive weeks. Her third studio album Brave Enough, featuring guest appearances from Dan + Shay, Christina Perri, Rivers Cuomo, Andrew McMahon and others, earned Stirling her second Billboard Music Award for “Top Dance/Electronic Album.” Stirling’s latest release, her fifth album Artemis (released September 2019 via BMG), debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and remained on the chart for 15 combined weeks. Artemis has also been turned into a successful comic book series. Additionally, Stirling co-wrote The New York Times best-selling book The Only Pirate at the Party with her sister Brook S. Passey, was the runner-up on Season 25 of “Dancing With the Stars” and has appeared on “America’s Got Talent.”
