Living in the Future's Past
press release: Sauk Area Climate Awareness and Action (SACAA) will sponsor a free public screening of the award-winning film Living in the Future’s Past on Saturday, January 26th at 11 a.m. at Bonham Theatre & Video, 564 Water St. in Prairie du Sac.
Produced and narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges, Living in the Future’s Past is a documentary film by Susan Kucera that challenges viewers to examine their expectations about a future shaped by global climate change.
In this beautifully photographed tour de force of original thinking, Bridges shares the screen with scientists, profound thinkers and a dazzling array of Earth’s living creatures to reveal eye-opening concepts about ourselves and our past, providing fresh insights into our subconscious motivations and their unintended consequences.
Living in the Future's Past shows how nobody can predict how major changes might emerge from the spontaneous actions of the many. How, as we come to understand our true connection to all there is, we will need to redefine our expectations, not as what we will lose, but what we might gain by preparing for something different.
This is not your parents' climate change movie.
This film screening is free and open to the public courtesy of SACAA and Bonham Theatre & Video, but concession sales will help offset costs. Those interested may stay for a guided discussion after the movie.
