Texas natives Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen became friends during college. Both later released debut albums in the mid-1980s as part of the vanguard of a then-burgeoning roots music wave which became the catch-all Americana genre. Songwriters, get thee to downtown Stoughton for a master class on how to set a story to music; everyone else should prepare to settle back and enjoy songs and stories by a pair of giants. Sold out.
