Nick Sanborn was a fixture in Milwaukee’s music scene for years, holding down bass guitar duties in the late, great Polyvinyl Records band Decibully, playing in the experimental band Cedar AV and ultimately starting an electronic solo project called Made of Oak. He put the band on hold when he moved to North Carolina, where he toured with Megafaun and co-founded the popular electronic pop group Sylvan Esso. Now Sanborn is now putting Made of Oak center stage, bringing his low-key, textural and organic grooves on tour and to Partisan Records, where he released Penumbra last November. With Chris Rosenau.
