Baraboo's celebrated Man Mound, like the Great Serpent in Ohio, is hailed as being one of most intriguing intact effigy monuments in the US.
Several organizations dedicated to the preservation of the Effigy Mounds in Wisconsin will have information and interactive displays about Indian Mounds, and archaeologists and representatives will be available for conversation and to answer questions.
The event is suitable for all ages and free to the public. Persons with mobility problems can be dropped off at the entrance to the park. Parking is along the berm of Man Mound Rd. The displays and Man Mound viewing are a very short walk from the entrance.
Directions: From Hwy 33 take Rt. T north to City View-Man Mound Rd.; turn right on Man Mound Rd. and follow to just past Trapp Rd. Man Mound Park is on the right (south) side of the road. Parking along the berm.
