press release:
In 2001, Harper Lee, author of the best-loved novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, opened her door to Chicago Tribune journalist Marja Mills. It was the beginning of a long conversation—and a great friendship.
Come hear Marja Mills describe life lived in the small town of Monroeville with Nelle Harper Lee and her sister, Alice. Listen to the stories that Nelle, Alice, and their friends have to tell about growing up in the era described in To Kill a Mockingbird, as well as the years following as privacy became more of an issue.
Books will be available for purchase and signing. Sponsored by the Friends of the DeForest Area Public Library.
