Medicaid Expansion Town Hall
Goodman Community Center-Brassworks 214 Waubesa St., Madison, Wisconsin 53704
press release: On Wednesday, April 17, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm state Rep. Chris Taylor will be joined by Department of Health Services Secretary Designee Andrea Palm and local state elected officials for an open discussion about Medicaid expansion in Wisconsin and the critical role it plays in Governor Evers' budget. Expanding Medicaid would cover 82,000 Wisconsinites and attract $1.6 billion of new federal match dollars to the state. These funds would help us provide countless services to the people of Wisconsin, including proposals in Governor Evers' budget, such as:
- Extending postpartum coverage for mothers on Medicaid from 60 days to 1 year
- Additional funding for substance abuse treatment and support, and mental health services
- Increasing the dental reimbursement rate for dental care providers who serve low-income individuals and individuals with disabilities
