media release: We can't get enough of Meggie Shays, we gotta have her at least once every month...minimum ♥
"Even as Meggie learned piano as a kid, her path to becoming a singer/songwriter was not a direct one. Yet she went on to explore an array of pursuits: from studying architecture, art, dance, and taking critical reading/writing courses in college, to working as an architectural designer for a short time. “I have many interests, and enjoy finding and creating connections between them. Music and Architecture both rely on structure and are capable of giving coherent expression to otherwise inchoate emotion.”
Meggie rededicated herself to the world that opened up to her as a child through self-expression of music, and has been unearthing her voice ever since. She discovered the joy of performing live. 'There’s nothing like playing for an audience and bringing them into that transcendent musical realm with you. Sometimes there’s a clear story with which to identify that brings them there. Other times, it is a more vague impression.' Her songs speak to failed relationships, the human condition, strength, hope and recovery, but unique to her music is the way Shays conveys the lows and highs in such a way that you experience the release for yourself.
‘Fog’, Meggie Shays’ debut EP, contains four of her original pop-rock tunes arranged with full band accompaniment. Her voice is clear, expressive and powerful.
In the midst of the pandemic, she continues to actively make music, art, and search for new stories to tell through her songs."
