Left of Left Center presents a promotional dramatic reading of Melancholy Play by Sarah Ruhl. Ruhl is the playwright behind works such as Eurydice (currently playing to strong reviews at American Players Theatre), The Clean House, and Dead Man's Cell Phone.

Melancholy Play presents a spirited, farcical defense of the virtues of melancholy, wrapped in a cautionary message about the dangers of happiness and salted with the perils of almond transformation.

This presentation is directed by Emily Morrison-Weeks, and features the talents of Shirley Nwangwa, Francisco Torres, Liz Light, Mike Dartt, Madison Stauffer, and Janine Puleo.
