Mental Health & Wellness Fall Festival

Tyrol Basin Ski & Snowboard Area, Mount Horeb 3487 Bohn Rd., Mount Horeb, Wisconsin 53572
media release: The purpose of the Mental Health & Wellness Fall Festival (taking place from 11 am-7 pm on Sept. 21 at Tyrol Basin, Mount Horeb) is to reduce mental health stigma, while giving community members experiential opportunities to learn through connection with art, nature, music, movement. This event will combat the current crisis of social disconnection and loneliness in this post-pandemic world, while promoting positive relational learning and fun family-friendly experiences.
One of the primary ways that we connect community members with these supportive resources is by highlighting the connections between
- Mental Health and Nature
- Mental Health and Culture
- Mental Health and Movement
- Mental Health and Art
- and Mental Health and Physical Wellbeing.
We host five panel presentations centered around these themes, interactive therapeutic demonstrations, free family art and nature activities, music and so much more.
The majority of the programming will conclude at 5:00 pm when we will have a really special opportunity for people to ride the chairlifts to the top of the ski hill where we will be having offering sunset yoga, hill side picnics (people are invited to bring their own or purchase from a selection of take out options from the Tyrol Kitchen) and will have a bon fire going and smores supplies to promote informal community and family connections and time connecting in the beautiful driftless countryside.
This is a free event organized by a grass-roots group of parents, business owners, teachers and student leaders. All donations are tax deductible and will be used towards the cost of the festival. Any remaining donations will be given to the CEDAR Center, which is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to equine facilitated mental health therapy programs.
The CEDAR Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping horses and people. CEDAR Center rescues and rehabilitates horses for placement in therapy programs. The organization is also dedicated to increasing access to equine therapy programs for people with relational and developmental needs. In this way, the organization increases beneficial human and equine relationships through therapy, education, outreach, and community engagement.
