press release: Please join the Sun Prairie Public Library April 5 for a discussion of the “Warriors, Saints, and Scoundrels” who built Wisconsin with Michael Edmonds and Sun Prairie native Samantha Snyder, authors of the new Wisconsin Historical Society Press book, “Warriors, Saints, and Scoundrels: Brief Portraits of Real People Who Shaped Wisconsin.” Their book illustrates the lives of the unique, quirky, and inspiring individuals who have influenced Wisconsin’s history. Among them are the lives of a governor who saw ghosts, an incorrigible horse thief, a husband and wife who each stood over seven feet tall, an American Indian chief who defied forced removal, and the first woman to practice law before the Supreme Court. Authors Michael Edmonds and Samantha Snyder unearthed the stories of more than eighty warriors, saints, and scoundrels from within the Wisconsin Historical Society collections to bring narratives, both obscure and beloved, to today’s readers. Don't miss out on this opportunity to hear the co-authors discuss their favorite anecdotes and learn more about the intricate research that went into publishing “Warriors, Saints, and Scoundrels”!
