Middleton Pride Festival

media release: Led by a group of dedicated community volunteers, in partnership with the Fair Wisconsin Education Fund and the City of Middleton’s Community Development Authority, Middleton’s first-ever LGBTQ+ Pride event will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The event will occur at Stone Horse Green in downtown Middleton from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

“Middleton Pride is a celebration of diversity, love, and community spirit,” said Middleton Mayor Emily Kuhn. “We are proud to stand together and honor the vibrant LGBTQ+ community that enriches our city.”  

Middleton Pride is a warm and inclusive event, a testament to the diverse identities of Middleton’s LGBTQ+ community. It's a platform to champion equality, inclusivity, and respect. It's a space for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to unite, celebrate their identities, and advocate for a more accepting and safe world. The event will feature live performances by Perfect Harmony Chorus (the greater Madison area’s LGBTQ+ chorus), DJ Sturgeon, two Drag Queen story times with Taaysty Queen and Madam Lacy, Karaoke with Amy Midle from Polished Entertainment, and more.  

The community gathering will also offer a range of activities for kids of all ages: face-painting and side-walk chalking provided by Girl Scout Troop 8055, pop-up arts hosted by the Middleton Arts Committee, and button-making with the Middleton Community Church. Local LGBTQ+ and ally organizations such as Fair Wisconsin, OutReach LGBTQ+ Community Center, the League of Women Voters of Dane County, Agrace, and WayForward Resources will be on site to share information and resources, demonstrating their commitment to raising awareness and providing community support. In addition, several local LGBTQ+ artists and crafters will have Pride-themed wares for sale. Local restaurants will feature Pride specials that attendees can purchase and carry out to the Green to enjoy!
