Love the whiskers: Expect stiff competition at the 2nd Annual Midwest Beard and Mustache Championship. There are contests in categories like "freestyle" and "whiskerina." And all proceeds benefit Gilda's Club, supporting people living with cancer.

press release: The Madison Beard Wearer's Union and Remington have joined forces once again to bring one of the country's most premier facial hair competitions to Madison. The 2nd Annual Midwest Beard and Mustache Championship will welcome contestants of all facial hair styles to compete against one another to see whose hair reigns supreme.

The championship will be held on July 18th from 1pm to 8pm at the Orpheum Theatre featuring nine competitive categories including: full beard (several different categories based on length), partial beard, mustache, freestyle, whiskerina & kids beard. Spectators should expect to see some of best, wildest, most creative beards and mustaches from across the globe. The judge panel this year includes celebrities from the local area and the beard world. There will also be several Madison businesses vending in the lobby that day and a few local photographers taking portraits and capturing the action.

$25 for competitors, spectators are free! All proceeds from ticket sales benefit Gilda’s Club.

3:30pm—Free Kids contest. “Make your beard at the show on stage!”
