The Morality of Marijuana Laws

press release: Sherman Ave. UMC will host a round table discussion on the morality of marijuana laws on June 12. The discussion will take place from 6:00pm until 7:15pm, and the event is open to the public.

Marijuana laws have been a salient issue in the United States. A wide range of doctrinal positions dot the religious, political and social landscape. How do we analyze these laws from a moral perspective?

The round table will feature State Representative Melissa Sargent, Madison Urban Ministry Executive Director Linda Ketchum, and community activists Caitlin McGahan and Cynthia Hart. The discussion will focus on the state of marijuana laws in the United States, and explore the disparities that exist within their enforcement.
