More Time Than Life

press release: Marzen presents More Time Than Life, an exhibition spotlighting modern Mexican art grown from long-held, rich traditional folk mediums and imagery. Artists in this exhibition come from various backgrounds yet share a common thread as they relate their craft to their personal and cultural traditions.

Marzen will host a variety of folk arts by master artists from Mexico and exhibit some collaborative works with Madison's own Carolyn Kallenborn alongside the annual Remembrance & Celebration community shrine project. 

Mata Ortiz Trunk Show: Join us for the unveiling of our full collection of pottery from Mata Ortiz, Mexico.  

Each piece of pottery comes one of a kind directly from the village of Mata Ortiz in Northern Mexico. Once a lost art, the ancient pottery building techniques were rediscovered and widely shared among the families in the village. These unique and highly sought after ceramics have become a trademark of the Mata Ortiz, with each family having their own unique style.
