#wearorange: Across the nation, people are wearing orange to raise awareness about gun violence. Check out this local rally featuring remarks from Mayor Paul Soglin and Police Chief Mike Koval. There will also be a picnic and kid-friendly activities. Don’t shoot.
Wear Orange June 2--National Gun Violence Awareness Day
5-6 PM, Central Park
On June 2, 2016 hundreds of organizations and influencers nationwide have pledged to #wearorange to honor the 90 victims killed and hundreds injured each day.
Mayor Soglin, other legislators, Chief Mike Koval of the Madison Police Department and others will speak out. We'll have snacks, drinks and things for kids to do. Wear Orange and bring the family to this short fun picnic in the park. The event is free and open to all ages.
