Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years of life, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families, and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country.
UW-Madison Associate Professor of Pediatrics Dr. Dipesh Navsaria is a featured expert in the film, and is an active member of this collaboration. Professor Seth Pollak, UW-Madison Psychology and Pediatrics, is also featured in the film.
The film was executively produced by Alfre Woodard and co-directed by Danny Alpert and Greg Jacobs.
The screening will be followed by an open question and answer session with the expert panelists listed below:
- Dr. Dipesh Navsaria, UW-Madison Associate Professor of Pediatrics
- Paula Drew, Research and Policy Analyst, Wisconsin Early Childhood Association
- Dennis Winters, Chief Economist, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development
